January 8, 2017
The Northeast Node’s Phase 2 Fentanyl Hot Spot study, Understanding Opioid Overdoses in New Hampshire, was recently featured in the Union Leader. The article explains New Hampshire’s fentanyl-related overdose crisis and how the study aims to answer the question: Why does New Hampshire have such a big problem? You can read the full article here.
The study is being conducted in partnership with the National Drug Early Warning System (NDEWS).
UPDATE: The Huffington Post also published an article about the nation’s fentanyl crisis. In it, a graph of the top 16 states with more than 50% increase in fentanyl-related deaths in the past year clearly shows how far above other states New Hampshire is.
The Northeast Node is proud to participate in efforts to better understand New Hampshire’s fentanyl problem, and to give a voice to the consumers and responders on the front lines of this crisis.
