Reducing Smoking in People with Psychiatric Disorders Using Regulatory and Behavioral Interventions

Jennifer Tidey, PhD, is Associate Dean for Research and Professor of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Brown University School of Public Health, and is affiliated with the Center for Alcohol & Addiction Studies. Her research focuses on identifying the underlying mechanisms of high tobacco dependence in vulnerable populations and developing effective interventions to reduce tobacco use and its health harms in these individuals. Dr. Tidey’s work in tobacco regulatory science aims to provide the FDA with information needed to make evidence-based regulatory decisions about tobacco products with the goal of improving public health. She has published over 180 peer-reviewed research articles in addiction and has led numerous NIH-funded projects totaling over $25 million.
