Webinar Description: This webinar is geared towards health care providers caring for hospitalized patients with pain and a substance use disorder, with a ‎focus on people with traumatic injuries. This webinar will use a case based approach to outline some of the challenges and complexities of managing pain in trauma patients ‎with a substance use disorder. The primary content will describe a successful analgesic plan and transition to Suboxone in the acute ‎traumatic postoperative period.‎

Educational Objectives:

  • Outline some of the unique ‎challenges of the post traumatic ‎injury population with substance ‎use disorders
  • Describe non-opioid ‎pharmacological interventions for ‎pain management
  • Identify several non-analgesic ‎factors that will improve the quality ‎of pain management of this ‎complex population

The Greater Kansas City Chapter of the American Society for Pain Management Nursing® is approved as a provider of continuing nursing education by the Kansas State Board of Nursing.
