Design and Evaluation of Digital Interventions for Behavior Change, by Roger Vilardaga

Roger Vilardaga, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the Center for Addiction Science and Technology at Duke University and Affiliate Professor at Duke’s Global Digital Health Science Center and the Department of Human Centered Design and Engineering at the University of Washington. Roger is passionate about the potential of mobile technologies for the advancement of contextual behavioral science and the development of cost-effective and higher-reaching behavioral interventions.

Roger studied psychology at the Universitat de Barcelona and received his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno. In 2014 he received a 5-Year Pathway to Independence Award from the National Institute on Drug Abuse. This Award provided training in user centered design and funded a 3-Year pilot randomized controlled trial to test the initial feasibility of the first NIH-funded smartphone app to deliver smoking cessation treatment for individuals with serious mental illness. From 2010 to 2015 he served as Associate Editor of the Journal of Contextual Behavioral Science.
